Running away with me... Everything in life for me is a song!! Once my husband was getting gas at the gas station and I made up a song about it!! That is a totally random thought and has absolutely nothing to do with this blogpost.
So on to the point. I am "one of those" moms who doesn't allow her children to watch much TV and the TV that can be watched is monitored. We only get local channels so there really isn't much for them to watch anyways. We have a rule that no TV is allowed on Sundays or school days. That only leaves time to watch on Thursday nights/Friday (no school on Friday) or Saturdays. And when they can watch TV the time is limited. For example this morning they watched The Dinosaur Train and Sesame Street - about an hour and a half and then mommy said the TV goes off. You know the great thing about today - they never even asked to turn it on again. Instead they spent their time using their imagination. And I LOVED it!!! Nathan got out his construction paper and scissors and went to town on making him and Luke police and fireman uniform accessories. Right now they are happily playing in the playroom. I must confess when I was a teenager and would baby-sit and parents would be so strict on their kids TV habits - I would promise to myself never to be like that!! My how the tables turn when you actually have kids!! Here are a few pictures below of their creativity!!

Another conversation in the van. Nathan to Luke. "When we get older lets still be brothers. When we have our own houses we can spend the night at each others houses and give our wives some peace and we can be wild!!" I promised my friend Suzanne I would write that one down. I am still laughing as I type!! How sweet is that!! Funny he doesn't realize there is no choice in the matter of brotherhood!! And where did he get that wives need peace?? !! He makes me smile!! I am thankful for the joy God brings me in Nathan form!!
Oh I know why I can't blog soo often - I have 3 kids!! I feel like I am always playing catch up. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Do you other moms have any advice for blogging time??
You will probably laugh but I was just telling a dear friend I want to cut back on my computer time. You're thinking you don't blog regularly in the first place - you are on the computer??!! I feel like I sometimes waste time on here (unless I am blogging - that is how I keep up with what my kids say - because scrapping is not my thing.) I enjoy facebooking, etc. but in that time I could be doing other things - like catching up on reading, going to bed at a decent hour, or just doing whatever might need to still be done. We eliminated cable awhile back so I don't really watch TV anymore but I do like being on the computer especially at night - it is almost like down time to me. So if you think about it pray that I will use my time wisely. This was just a random side note.
Now.. I will give you a brief synopsis of the whats been happenings and bombard you with pictures.
At the beginning of the month we went on a field trip to Isons Farm with Nathans kindergarten class. We had such a fun time - Nathan's favorite part was going inside the tee pee - (my picture of that was kind of dark so - just imagine.) Luke's favorite part was the hayride. And Ethan he was just along for the whole ride :)
Last week was Veterans Day and you know how my fam is about the military!! David and I attended a Veterans Day Ball. We had another Wounded Warrior Benefit night for Mark Allen - I think I may have mentioned hm and the wounded warrior benefits in an earlier post. Lots of funds were raised and of course my boys went decked out in their army uniforms!!
I attended my first Georgia game in Athens this past weekend and had sooo much fun!! What an experience to say the least!! I cannot get over how trashed the campus was when we left - it was rather sad. But how about that game!! Sometimes Nathan tells me to calm down when we are watching the game on local TV - if he could have seen his mama!! Who would have ever thought I would have become such a football fan - boys will do it to you! I didn't have much of a voice at the end of the game!! Go dawgs!
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving feast at Nathan's school so I will have more pictures that will have to make their way to the blog. David and I are reminiscing and going back to Callaways Fantasy in Lights this weekend. And the first week in December is a mad house for me!! But hopefully it won't be too long before you hear from us - who am I kidding I mean me - again!
Okay so I must admit I enjoy blog reading when I have time. It is actually encouraging to read from other moms who share my same joys and struggles. So I read a blog called Monkeys on the Bed I don't even know this bloggers name she goes by Monkeys Mama, but I do know she is a believer and one faithful blogger (unlike myself!) So she has a giveaway on Fridays. I have no idea why I even entered the giveaway I never win anything but I did and one of the things that I could to add my name to the pot a few more times was to post a blog on my website about her blog and giveaway. She is giving away some fabulous things from Etsy. Three to be exact and they are coming from H & J Star Creations, Custom Designs by Nancy, and TableScapes Company. So check out the Monkeys Mamablog and these other etsy sites - you just might find some great holiday gifts!
This is my absolute most favorite month of the year!!! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday followed closely by Christmas. I just love this time of year!! I love the beautiful color on the trees, I love the cooler weather, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, Christmas music, holiday flavored lattes, I just love it all!!! I used to think summer was my favorite season and I do love the hot weather and the pool and the beach but not as much as I love November - that is just a side note..... Another reason I think I love this time of year - is because it is when I met my husband and fell madly in love with him!! Our actual first date was September 7 and it was just all down hill and googly eyes from there!! I was reminiscing this morning about this and remembered I had written in a CFA calendar (how appropriate right?) every thing we did from September 2001 to January 2002 when we got engaged. I do have a point to this blog - actually two so let me get to them...
1. Recently David made/took a challenge with some CFA co-workers to take their spouse out on a date on the 21st of every month. So he sent me calendar requests for the 21st of every month for the next year - I joked with him I might have to take a raincheck - but that option was not available :). For those of you who don't know - when David first asked me out I told him I needed a raincheck - but that is another story for another blog. If you need details sooner write me and I can tell you all about it! But back to point number 1. So I am all sentimental this morning and actually pulling out the calendar from those first few months of dating - and would you believe it .... we had a date on November 21!!! We went to Callaway Gardens for the Fantasy of Lights show. I had never been and it was such a wonderful date!! We decided this morning to do that for our date night this November!! Isn't that sweet??!! I can't wait!!
2. As I was flipping through the calendar - I noticed a few other things. One in particular was our first kiss on September 30. Do you know what September 30 is? It is Ethan's birthday!! I just thought that was sooo neat!! How funny that six years from the very day we had our first kiss - we had our third baby boy!! I just thought that was something!! So that is my sentimental blog for now sorry if my thoughts were so scattered!!!! I just have to say it one more time I love this time of year!! And David .... I love you!!! Thanks for making such sweet memories for me!! Below are a few of my favorite date memories. This first is from our date at Callaway - we look soo young!! The second our first trip to NYC -speaking of which we are going for our anniversary in December - more to come on that!! And then the last picture is one of my most favorite date pictures ever - silly we are - getting ready to see an IMAX movie at the TN aquarium.
So it's not like we are always super excited for daddy to go on trips but usually we aren't super sad either. It's life and we are accustomed to the traveling - well as much as one can be. And we are ever so thankful that daddy has a job. However it is hard when we have had daddy home for a month or two and then he has to travel 3-4 times in a row - hence the picture above. Yesterday the kids and I thought we would just get the toy handcuffs and attach him to the stove so he couldn't go out of town. It didn't work much to our avail!! Luke has had a few meltdowns where he tells me " I berry berry want my daddy" or "I berry miss daddy." Of course when telling David all this last night - it made him feel good and it should!! I did tell him when he left not to call here and ask me how things were going - cause you know what happens when he does that!! Daddy we miss you and love you!! Stay safe and hurry home!!!
Is the same true for you other moms out there who have traveling husbands?? Things always happen when they are gone - its just par for the course. David was gone the latter part of last week and when he called on Thursday night he even asked me if all was okay - no busted how water heater etc. All was fine. I even got a thank you note from CFA in the mail on Friday morning (all the wives got one.) It was a note of gratitude for supporting our husbands while away - and even this note made mention of how it seems crazy things always happen when our husbands are away.
One hour later - Nathan falls flat on his face on our kitchen floor. Now you must know Nathan has a bit of dramatic flair in him. So I casually walked over to him not immediately seeing any blood saying "Nathan its okay - get up and let me see your mouth." Mind you I knew he already had a loose tooth - so I thought at most he probably knocked that loose tooth a bit looser. Well he opens his mouth and there is the blood - and not only has he knocked the tooth that was loose - he has also knocked loose one his front top teeth. It was quite noticeable but I felt it just to be sure - so a call to the dentist ensued - with a trip right behind it. So I quick get a shower and then we all head over to the dentist - and mind you Nathan is still crying at this point - pretty much the whole way to the dentist.
So we get to the dentist and they take the x-rays and then the dentist comes in and looks around and begins to point to teeth that I didn't even think had been affected!!! Nathan ended up have FOUR teeth pulled that morning!! He was such a trooper!!! I have never had to have a shot in my mouth that I can remember and he was just fabulous!! He did cry and it was traumatic but all in all he really did a great job. The dentist did tell me that because the area was already injured due to the fall (his lip was pretty swollen) that the shots were going to hurt much worse than normal - as if he were just having a filling. Something I also don't know about. So I say he was a trooper!!! The hardest part for him was probably the pain and the not eating for awhile part. And then when he could eat it could only be certain things. So we took a trip to the grocery store and I let him pick out a few soft items that we would normally not buy - you know like "McQeen" soup etc (not that there is anything wrong with "McQueen" soup it just is not generic thus a little more expensive.) Poor guy - my teeth/mouth hurt for him.
Daddy came home and later that evening we took Nathan and Luke to see "Where the Wild Things Are." This was Luke's first movie theater experience - he loved the popcorn. And they both enjoyed the movie. We actually ended up running into one of Nathan's friends from school Grady - and they got to sit together. And of course that night Nathan hit the jackpot for his 4 teeth. David had told him when he got his first loose tooth that he would give him $5 for it. So we gave him $10 but we also bought him this knight set from the Christian bookstore that he has been saving his money for. He was thrilled!! Now he has the knight set and he still has his money :)
Saturday was much calmer of course - David was home!! I ran a 5k with my friend Bridget and ran my best time yet. In the afternoon my sister came over and we carved pumpkins. Here are a few pics. Enjoy!
That's what Luke said to me tonight when I tucked him into his "palette" on the floor in mommy's room. I always tell him I love you more and then usually he replies I love you more most. But not tonight - tonight I said I love you most and then he replies back I love you like God does and my heart just melted. It has been one of those days and I needed that. Thank you Luke - mommy loves you!! Most!!
So a week or so ago there was a dead snake on the street right before mine in our subdivision. As you can imagine this was a very big deal for our family seeing as how I have all boys and very fascinating might I add. We were able to see the snake several times in the course of just two days that is before the "vegetables" took it away. You know vegetables and vulchers are soo similar. I think this might be one of the funniest things Luke has said ~ One afternoon we had to ride over to Grandma's house to see some extended family members and of course we had to pass the snake and check it out to see if it was still there - well it wasn't. And mind you we had seen the birds picking at it earlier. So we walk into Grandma and PaPa's house and Luke was just soo excited here is what he said:
"We saw a snake and somebody had run over it and it was all curled up and the vegetables came and took it away."
We all laughed soo hard. Knowing he meant to say vulchers. It was funny - at least I thought so.
I am soo thankful for my husband. I Thank God for His sovereignty!! Words just can't express!! So I leave it at that. Here are a few pictures of our little celebration as he not at all into us making a big deal about it. But we have to do a little something :) David I love you and pray God gives you many more birthdays for me to make "not such a big deal" over you!
Luke has started CUBBIES- can it be... is he really old enough. The answer is yes. He is so excited to have his vest and his bag. He loves it!! He is doing okay memorizing his verses. He and Nathan are very different so we are excited to see how God is going to develop Luke.
Nathan has moved up to SPARKS and he is beside himself!! He loves listening to his CD and working towards earning patches and jewels. He has done really well. I confess I was a little worried - wondering if he would be able to handle all the work - but he is of course exceeding my expectations. This week he is bringing his good friend Madelyn along. He is very excited.
I am so happy my boys are hiding God's word in their hearts. So thankful we live where we can read the Word wherever and whenever!
It seems just like last week I had this sweet baby boy and brought him home and here I am a year later!! What happened?? Let me tell you what happened - Ethan "E-bear" as we affectionately call him as developed a personality!! He is so sweet and loving and at the same time has a flaring temper. He reminds us a lot of Nathan - he is very people oriented and does not like to be left alone in a room without people. However he does like to be left alone by his brothers - if he doesn't want to be bothered watch out! And if the food has run out - beware!!
But for the most part he is sweet and silly and sooo lovable!!
He has gained 4 pounds in the past 2 months. He officially weighs 20 lbs and is 29 inches long. We all thought he was going to be so little!! He is a very healthy boy and as I mentioned earlier he loves to eat!! I think he would eat all day long if I let him. And he isn't picky he will eat just about anything and of course he loves CFA chicken nuggets and waffle fries :)
He had his first haircut last month in our church bathroom!! David was threatening to cut it himself so I had to take action quick!! Thanks to Lita for giving up her fellowship time to give him his first haircut.
Ethan is all over the place!! He is finally crawling on all fours after doing the army crawl for awhile. He is pulling up and crawling up a few stairs. He isn't cruising yet and if he doesn't want to use his legs he won't!! In fact we joke that he is a little lazy because instead of cruising from one place on the couch to another spot he will sit down - and crawl over and pull up to where he wants to be. It is rather humorous. He babbles a lot! He is very vocal. He can say dada and mama (he only says that when he is mad - go figure!) He also says uh-0h and bye. And of course like his brothers he is obsessed with phones. It must be in their genes!
We did have a little party for E-bear but he wasn't so into all that!! He cried a good bit!! I think he was overwhelmed. I made him a monkey cake and a smash cake - but he didn't like that either. Oh well we enjoyed the time together and watching him when he was happy.
Oh I have to say it again - how has it been a year!! This is so sentimental for me. As I look through pictures of his birth I am once again reminded of how great my God is. That He knit this precious boy in my womb - and He continues to grow him physically outside, He chose me to be his mother and care for him and love him. And He gave me the huge task of instructing him. My heart is full and like Mary does in the passage in Luke 2 - I too treasure the moments I have with Ethan in my heart. Ethan we love you soo much. We are so thankful to God for you and I am very thankful He chose me to be your mommy. We pray that God will draw you to himself and that He will use you in a mighty way to further His kingdom. May you always seek to follow Him and be a man after Gods own heart. Thanks be to God!
So its been awhile.....a LONG while. So here is the big news - I took a job - one day a week teaching music at Nathans school. I wasn't looking for it - it just kind of fell in my lap. The preschool director called me because she had heard that I used to teach music and wondered if I would be willing to think about coming on staff. I talked it over with David and he was very supportive and I even get to take Luke and Ethan with me. They have a class that they go to while I teach - it really has been great!! It has been soo much fun and rewarding!! I had forgotten how much I really loved teaching!! It kind of makes me want to go back to school and get my masters. But the deal is David gets to go back to school first so if this urge to further my education continues it will have to wait awhile!! I teach on Wednesdays so that makes for a really long day since I teach childrens choir on Wednesday nights at church - but its my passion!! Not only has God given me a gift he is allowing me to use it!! Having this job has definitely opened my eyes to be more grateful for the gift of being a stay at home mom!! I don't know how women work full time and be wives and mothers. I work 4 hours a week and feel behind some days!! Hence the absence of blogging. So what else have I been up to you ask?? Well I go to Ladies Bible study on Tuesday and we are studying Heaven; you know what I do on Wednesdays, and usually Thursday nights I meet with a girl from church here at my house - its a week by week basis - but we go through a book (currently Instructing the Heart of a Child) encourage and pray for one another. So that's whats up with me!! Now you are probably wondering what is up with everybody else!! Well David is still working hard so I can be a wife and mommy!! He is hoping to get into a hunting stand soon - tis the season!! He is still very involved with helping wounded soldiers returning home. He has a busy next few months which means travel. I have enjoyed having him home for a bit. Nathan is loving school!! He is doing so well and I have just loved watching him learn new things!! He is starting to sound words out and of course he thinks he can read!! He likes having mommy work at his school. We love his teachers!! Ms. Alleta and Ms. Suzie are perfect for him. He has lots of friends and seems to get along with all his classmates. He especially enjoys doing things with his good friend Madelyn which is a perk for all of us!! He has his first loose tooth - so stay tuned because I am sure it won't be long! Soo funny to me - one is losing teeth and one is cutting teeth!! Luke - our silly "LuLu" loves going to "school" with mommy and usually gets a bit frustrated he can't go the other 3 days a week!! He is my character!! He is so full of life - there is never a dull moment at home with him. He especially likes to be read to right now and I love that I have the time to read with him. Mostly he just likes to play and love on Ethan- oh to be so carefree again!! And last but not least Ethan - well he just turned 1!!! Can you believe it?? Well you will have to hold tight - because he deserves a post alone for this milestone!! So what have you been doing??
I am soo behind in the blog-o-sphere!! I haven't forgotten about you my faithful blog readers - life just happens. I do so love to blog - it is my way of scrapbooking but as you can see I haven't really had much time for it. I read blogs written by others and they have such cute ideas and posts and it just reminded me of how much I enjoy blogging. So for you readers out there hold on this weekend I hope to get on the blogroll. I have been adding pictures to the computer this weekend - maybe I can have the blog updated before the weekend is over!! Stay tuned..........
One of my favorite things to do is read. I could easily get lost in a Borders or Barnes and Noble if I were ever to be alone in one of them :) A great cup of coffee in a bookstore with a great book sounds soo exciting too me!! I could never understand how so many of my friends could read multiple books at a time - especially my husband sometimes he has 5 going on at the same time. I would always say to him "you are never going to finish any of those books!!" Well guess what I am joining your ranks. I think I have 3 that I have started and am wanting to start another one!! At least all three of these books have the same subject matter so I am not getting confused. But someone help me - how do you keep up and how do you finish any of them. Remember I have 3 boys of who are age 5 and under. Can someone share with me how I can finish these books and possibly be successful at reading multiple books at a time! TELL ME PLEASE!
I love the age my boys are right now!! Nathan and Luke play so well together and Ethan just observes them giggling every now and then. One of my most favorite sounds is hearing them make each other laugh - there is no other sound quite like it! And of course I myself and secretly giggling as I hear them play. They love to play "ertend" as Luke so preciously calls pretend. "Let's go to Monkey Joes mommy!" "No Luke we can't go to Monkey Joes." "No mommy just ertend!" It is just so cute!! They make up tents with blankets and call it their secret clubhouse and there is a password you have to use to get in. They play firemen and bug guys and army men. Oh their imagination just soars! Yesterday as we were on our way to school Nathan informs me that one time with his mimi he saw a "pedicure truck." He continues to talk about seeing a "pedicure truck" and then he mentions seeing police cars, ambulances, fire trucks etc. So finally I asked him what is a "pedicure truck?" To which he replies : "you know mom it's like an ambulance." AHA - he is trying to say a paramedic truck!! I just thought this was soo funny and I knew if I didn't write it down I would forget one day.
To kindergarten!! Today was Nathan's first day of school. He is attending kindergarten at Fayetteville First Baptist - which is where he attended pre-school last year. He will go Monday - Thursday from 8:30-12:30. Yesterday we had orientation and met his teachers Mrs. Alleta and Mrs. Suzie. Nathan is soo excited. His class has 8 boys and 4 girls - wow!! We have good friends from CFA Madelyn and Andrew in our class. When we got home from orientation yesterday Nathan said - "oh mom Mrs. Alleta is great - she is going to be such a great teacher!"
He was so excited about going to school this morning and had such a great time he wanted to go back after lunch! We are so thankful for Nathan's eagerness to learn!! I can remember when he was a little baby wondering what it would be like when he was 5 and here it is!! I did well - no tears just a little nostalgic! We are so blessed that God has given us wonderful teachers to help Nathan through kindergarten. I am praying that Nathan will be an example of Christ and His love for us.
TRUE!! When I was in NYC last April David and I were in a music store and I spotted someone I thought to look very familiar!! Here is the ridiculous part - I asked her if she was from Fayetteville!! David and I laugh about this all the time!! Turns out she was an actress - her name is Lynn Whitefield and she has played in some movies I have seen. Hence the familiarity!
2. I met my husband at the ice cream machine and then a few days later proceeded to spill a whole pitcher of tea on him and some of his friends.
TRUE. We did meet at the ice cream machine - romantic isn't it :) and I did unfortunately spill a whole pitcher of tea on him and a friend.
3. My favorite book of the Bible is Psalms.
FALSE. My favorite book hands down is Colossians!! Oh the supremacy of Christ!!
There you have it readers!! Hope you all are doing well! Have a great one!
My favorite salad recipe ever!! Compliments of my dear friend Natalie!
1 bag Spring Mix Salad strawberries (cut and diced) - cherry tomatoes (cut in half) feta cheese dried cranberries nut of choice (I use glazed pecans)
Dressing: 1/2 cup of oil 1/2 cup lemon juice 1 TBSP garlic salt 2 TSP parsley
I love this salad!! And just a word for you bargain shoppers I can buy all of these ingredients at Aldi's for half the price I would pay at the grocery store or Walmart. And.. I just use half the pint of strawberries, tomatoes and half the containers of feta, cranberries and nuts then I just buy an extra bag of salad and have more for my money!! I can't use many nuts in the first place because too many can give me a headache and you can use plain ones I just happen to like the glazed ones much better! And the salad dressing goes a long way - I don't use much of it at all so it lasts for a while!! So what is your favorite salad recipe??
So I am a few days late and I am doing this today because so many friends have wondered what happened to my silly little quiz!! 3 boys - that's what happens!! But here you guys go! I will try to get back in my Tuesday habit! Enjoy for now and don't forget to leave your answers in the comments section!
1. I have recently met someone who is famous.
2. I met my husband at the ice cream machine and then a few days later proceeded to spill a whole pitcher of tea on him and his friends.
Sounds silly but I am a bit excited about having written 200 blog posts. And in all honesty I have been racking my brains for a few days about what I should post on such a momentous blog occasion. I didn't even do anything for 100 posts I don't even think I noticed when I hit 100. So I wanted this to be "just the right" blog. I know I know silly! There are definitely more important things in life. However last night just the right "topic" fell right into my lap.
I have recently been thinking about what a servant my husband is. And again if I am really honest - I thought to myself - he is going to have such crowns in heaven - and because we are married - of course my earthly nature wants to be near him in heaven and my thinking went on ...just because I am married to him does not automatically make me as giving or as serving as he is so I might not be rewarded like I know he will be in heaven -so what if I don't get to be near him. All that to say the holy spirit has really convicted me through the gracious and kind acts of my husband. I am thankful that God is so merciful and uses people in our everyday lives to ultimately draw us closer to Him and bring glory and honor to Himself. Thank you for continuing to bear with me as I write this.
So here is a glimpse of the wonderful servant heart of my husband. We both grow up in military families - so we are both drawn to very much support our armed forces. But David just goes above and beyond (one of those things I want to be better at) Last night the Fayetteville Dwarf House and Upscale Pizza held a benefit night for a family of a soldier who was wounded recently in Afghanistan. We have never met this family just have the connection through a dear friend and co-worker from Chick-fil-A who is currently serving in Afghanistan as well. David does not like to be praised or applauded for anything he does - but he did help to arrange these events (for all I know he may have arranged all of it - but I will never know as he would never tell even if he did.) I do know he sent multiple emails, facebook messages, etc to help get the word out. Both stores were able to raise $3000 dollars for this family. Isn't that great!!! David also sends out packages to friends we know serving overseas. And he is always sure to thank anyone he sees in uniform. This is a character trait that he has passed along to our children as you see in the picture below - Nathan is saluting a soldier he sees in uniform. I am so thankful for David and the things that he teaches our children. But ultimately I am thankful to God for making David this way and gearing his heart toward acts of service. And thankful for His grace - it isn't just because we are teaching our children to have respect towards others - especially those who make such sacrifices such as serving in the armed forces - it is by His grace that this happens.
So there you have it - my 200th post. Thank you David - for being a wonderful husband and a great example of Jesus - THE ultimate servant - to me and our boys. And THANK YOUsoo much soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines and your families - we are grateful for your sacrifice!!!
1. In our family - I cut the grass. In fact I am obsessed about how our yard looks - always planting something new out there.
FALSE! I do not cut the grass. The one time I tried to do this good deed for my husband things didn't go so well. I know this made my friend Angie tickled!!
2. I have eaten things unknown to me.
TRUE. I have been out of the country a few times and I am quite sure when I was in Asia I ate things and I didn't know what they were. And to be honest I think it is just better that way.
3. Today I am exactly 31 and a half.
FALSE. I actually turned 30 and a half yesterday. The funny thing is when I was reading all of your answers I thought number 3 isn't supposed to be false. I really meant to type 30 and a half but I made a typing error. Oh well. Stay tuned for next week - I am sure I will think of some other random true/false statements about me. Thanks for reading!!
So last night we had some dinner with some missionary friends who are returning to Brazil today. Of course we ate CFA - to be more specific we ate at Truetts Grill but that is not the point I am just trying to set the story up here. We are outside by the door - saying our final goodbyes where Luke discovers some sand in a bucket. Now we all know this isn't really sand to play in - so we are saying to all 6 of the kids - don't play in that!! And here comes the question of the hour - "what is that?" to which my Nathan replied "oh that's what you put smokers in." This might not be nearly as funny to you as it was to me - but I thought it was hilarious!!! I am laughing even now! Have a joyful day!
False. My favorite season is Summer. I love the summer!!
2. If you were to find me in Barnes and Noble I would likely be in the music section of the store.
False! I would likely be in the kids section - even when the kids aren't with me. I love children's books. The music prices at Barnes and Noble are ridiculous!! If I am not in the kids books - then I am in the Christian living.
3. My top vacation destination is camping somewhere in the woods.
False!! This is absolutely not true. Me camping in the woods - this might make some of you laugh - I am such a girlie girl and very spoiled by husband. However I do hope to camp in the woods at some point with my boys - it just is not my top vacation destination.
So a bird hit our window at home yesterday - poor thing. I could totally relate to this bird being the klutz that I am. You can see by the picture here - this bird was pretty knocked out! David rescued it and for a few minutes we had the amazing opportunity to see this little creature that God made. After some investigating aka "googling" we discovered it was a brown thrasher which happens to be the state bird of GA. Thankful for the technology we have today!! I marvel at how God takes care of each creature he made and how much more He takes care of me His child. What a blessing and good reminder of how great our God is. The little bird eventually took flight and hung out on our driveway for a while. The boys were very concerned and prayed for God's protection over it. What a sweet teaching moment we had!
